Profile

Life can be challenging sometimes, and it’s vulnerable to seek help and support. I understand this because I’ve been there myself. Whatever you are going through, you don’t have to do it alone. We can meet where you are together, and transform your pain or challenge into an opportunity for self-discovery, healing, transformation, and empowerment.

I hold a compassionate place for those who feel silenced or feel that they don’t belong and for people who have experienced bullying, emotional or physical abuse or neglect. I specialize in and have experience working with social anxiety, general anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation, body image issues, low self-esteem, and grief. I help individuals find relief and freedom from harsh inner critics and oppressive self-images. I also co-facilitate a therapy group for people with Social Anxiety, Shyness, and/or Sensitivity. I work with adults, adolescents and children. With children I use play therapy, an engaging and effective way to help children heal and regain self-confidence.

I welcome diversity of all kinds. I was born outside of the US and my parents are immigrants. I am multicultural and understand the complexities that arise with many identities and the challenges that one can experience coming from another country and culture. I am bilingual and I also provide therapy in Spanish. Proveo terapia en español.

I love nature and draw on her wisdom constantly in my therapeutic work as well as my personal life. I am also a musician, and I deeply enjoy helping individuals access their unique creative potential, whether through the arts or by embodying their truest expression of self in their everyday life.

About the Nondual Approach

My psychotherapy approach is holistic, meaning that I work on various levels of the person. One level of being that many therapy modalities miss is the spiritual, existential, or transpersonal level. When we view our human struggles from this higher existential or spiritual vantage point we can see that most of our emotional and mental struggles arise from our egos. The ego is a bit like a computer program that creates a sense of "I-ness" or identity. This "program" helps us navigate the world and societal expectations and pressures. However, especially in our Western society, we have lost the understanding that the ego is not really who we are. We have bought in to the egoic illusion that we can achieve and control our way into happiness and peace. But the more we move through life this way, we feel more and more empty. We feel anxious because some wiser sense within us knows we cannot control very much. We feel depressed because somewhere deep inside we feel a loss. Loss of connection to the larger Oneness that is the natural process of our Earth and our Universe. We are actually not separate from it. And as we realize this, we get closer and closer to embodying a sense of flow and peace. In my sessions, I help clients bring awareness to the narratives and illusions that cause them pain and stuckness. Through somatic exercises and mindfulness I offer a different experience of Self, beyond the ego, one that is expansive, authentic, and healing.
